So I was informed by
my stake president on Tuesday of this week that my call had been
assigned and would be sent. Wednesday I waited half the day and my
parents still hadn't texted me so I called my mom after my classes to
ask. She said that it didn't come today, which was super discouraging. I
knew I had to wait until the weekend to open it, but I knew it would
make me feel better just knowing it was at my house waiting. Thursday,
same thing. No letter. I talked to an RM in my astronomy class about it,
and he told me that if it didn't come this Wednesday, it was most
likely to come next week (and not this week at all). So I kind of
stopped hoping it would come. I decided to still come home this weekend
to see my new niece that was born this week! Then Friday, RIGHT before
we left for home, my mom texted me and said "It's here!" I literally
screamed, and I forced her to send me a picture to prove it.
The
thing I was most worried about with my mission was where I was going. I
knew that I would love to go out of the country but I really had this
feeling that I wouldn't. I had four dreams, One that I was called to
Canada, one to Mississippi, one to Georgia, and one out of the country.
The Georgia and Mississippi dreams were kind of mixed though so I didn't
think much about them.
When I opened my mission call and read
"Georgia Macon" I couldn't help but cry and feel a huge sense of deja
vu! I've never been to the South, I hardly know anything about it except
that they love NASCAR and football (and I don't), and that's about it.
So my family and I decided to look up some things about Georgia, to get
familiar. Here are some of the most interesting:
-Where I'm serving is as far South as it gets, before you get into Florida.
-My cousin is serving there, and my mom's cousin, who she has never met, lives there!
- The Alllman Brothers come from there!
-Macon contains the state's museum for music!
-BBQing is a favorite pass time
-"The Last Song" (which I watched last night) was filmed there!
-The Southern Live Oak is Georgia's state tree

-It is home to the largest state park in the nation!
Yeah, so those facts weren't the most interesting, but it FOR SURE is a gorgeous state so here are some pictures :)

And
if nothing else, my sister predicted it, when she was high out of her
mind on pain medication, when she got her wisdom teeth removed before
her mission:
